Eyelash extensions are an exciting new way to extend the length and thickness of your natural eyelashes. Lash extensions are single strands of synthetic eyelashes that are curved to replicate a natural eyelash. They are applied to each individual natural eyelash one by one for a natural, beautiful and luscious look.
Do eyelash extensions ruin your natural lashes?
The biggest myth is that lash extensions ruin your own lashes. They do not. If applied correctly and properly, they are safe and do not ruin the health of your natural lashes. After care is very important so be sure not to rub your eyes or tug or pull on the extensions because this can cause lash loss and even damage to your natural lashes.
How often do you need to get lash extensions redone?
Lash extensions last through a full growth cycle of natural eyelashes, typically six to eight weeks. That said, because each person’s lash growth is somewhat variable (just hair growth), I suggest light lash maintenance every three to four weeks to maintain a full look. Do lash extensions fall out over a certain period of time?
Since each lash extension is attached to a single eyelash, they will fall out naturally along with the natural growth cycle of each lash. We recommend a touch-up every three to four weeks.
How are they applied?
The appointment takes approximately 2.5 hours for a full set and 1.45 to 2 hours for a fill, depending on how long it has been in between fills.
There are three types of lash extensions that are used: synthetic, silk and mink. Size availability ranges from 6mm to 17mm. Once we determine your lash extension size, the lashes are applied one at a time to your individual lashes using a specially formulated, semi-permanent glue that will not irritate the eye nor damage the natural lash.
Whether you're going on a beach holiday and want to enjoy swimming and water-sports without worrying about panda eyes, or if you're simply curious to see the enhancing effects of darker lashes, then eyelash tinting could be the beauty treatment for you.
WHAT IS EYELASH TINTING?
Eyelash tint is a form of hair dye developed for specific use on the eyelashes. Eyelash tinting produces a similar effect to mascara. It visibly lengthens, darkens and thickens the appearance of eyelashes without smudging, clotting or rubbing off.
HOW IS IT DONE?
The appointment should take no longer than 15 to 20 minutes and will usually follow the same steps: 1. Special stickers are placed around your eyelids to protect your eye from contamination. 2. Dye will then be carefully applied to both the upper and lower lashes. 3. The dye will be left for around five to 10 minutes in order to sink into the lashes and set. 4. When the five minutes is up, your beauty professional will gently wash away the dye, leaving your eyelashes looking darker, longer and thicker than before.
AFTER THE PROCEDURE:
Although the eyelash tint itself is permanent, the effects will only last as long as the growth cycle of your eyelashes. As each dyed lash reaches the end of its growth cycle it will fall out and cause the darker look of your lashes to gradually fade over time. Your eyelash tint will last around 4-6 weeks, depending on the growth cycle of your lashes.
Call it an optical illusion: Upturned eyelashes look longer than very straight ones. Putting a kink at the lashline of your fringe not only grants you fuller, longer-looking lashes; it helps you fake a wide-eyed doe look, too.
WHAT HAPPENS DURING AN APPOINTMENT: 1. Lashes are coated with a special adhesive and wrapped around mini foam rollers or equally diminutive heated clips. This holds them in the curled position that you're hoping to achieve. 2. With your eyes tightly shut, a perming solution / cream is applied to your lashes with a tiny brush. 3. We then cover your roller-wrapped fringe in plastic wrap and lets the solution set for about five minutes. 4. After the perming solution have taken full effect, we apply a neutralizing solution. More plastic wrap is applied. 5. You sit for another few minutes. WHAT ARE THE RESULTS OF AN EYELASH PERM?
The appointment takes anywhere from 45 mins to 90 mins. The curl in your lashes will last anywhere from four weeks to three months. As your lashes grow and fall out (the life cycle of lashes is about 60 to 120 days), the effects become less noticeable.
